Who this policy applies to
This policy applies to all visitors to getpredictablesuccess.com and to anyone who corresponds with the site's editorial team. GPS Info Digital Media, the operating entity, is bound by the Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) in relation to personal information collected from Australian residents. The policy is dated 16 July 2026 and supersedes any earlier version.
Information we collect
GPS Info collects the minimum amount of personal information necessary to run an editorial site. In practice this means:
- Aggregated, non-identifying analytics data from server logs — IP address, browser user-agent, timestamps and pages requested — for the purposes of site-performance monitoring and abuse detection.
- Any personal information you provide in correspondence sent to the editorial address, including your name, email address and the content of your message.
- Information necessary to process a correction request or a formal complaint, where you provide it voluntarily.
We do not use tracking cookies for advertising or profiling. See the Cookie Policy for the essentials-only cookies used.
How we use personal information
Personal information is used only for the purpose for which it was provided. Editorial correspondence is used to respond to the sender. Server-log data is used to monitor site availability, block abusive traffic, and inform aggregated readership analysis. Where a specific piece of correspondence surfaces a topic that becomes the seed of a future article, we do not use the sender's identifying information without their consent.
How we store and protect personal information
Personal information is stored on infrastructure hosted in Australian and European data centres operated by reputable providers. Data at rest is encrypted using AES-256 with keys held in the provider's key-management service. Personal information sent by email is retained in a mail server subject to industry-standard transport encryption and authentication controls. Access is restricted to the small number of editorial staff who need it for the stated purpose.
Disclosure and cross-border transfer
GPS Info does not sell, rent, or trade personal information. We do not disclose personal information to third parties except where required by Australian law or where a service provider processing data on our behalf (for example the hosting provider) needs access to perform the service under a written data-processing agreement. Where cross-border data transfer occurs — typically to European hosting infrastructure — the recipient is bound by GDPR-equivalent obligations that meet or exceed the Australian Privacy Principle 8 threshold.
Your rights under the APPs
Under the Australian Privacy Principles you have the right to:
- Request access to the personal information we hold about you (APP 12).
- Request correction of any inaccurate, out-of-date or misleading personal information (APP 13).
- Object to a particular use or disclosure of your personal information.
- Make a complaint about how your personal information has been handled.
To exercise any of these rights, email the editorial address on the contact page. We aim to acknowledge access requests within one working day and provide the requested information within thirty days.
Cookies and analytics
GPS Info uses essential cookies to remember your accessibility preferences and no other tracking cookies. The site does not integrate third-party advertising networks and does not run behavioural profiling. Full details are in the Cookie Policy.
Data retention
Editorial correspondence is retained for as long as the enquiry remains open and for a reasonable archival period thereafter. Server-log data is retained for ninety days and then aggregated or deleted. Personal information that is no longer required for any lawful purpose is deleted.
Notifiable data breaches
GPS Info is subject to the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme under the Privacy Act. Any eligible data breach — one likely to result in serious harm — will be notified to affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner within the statutory timeframe.
Complaints and contact
Complaints about personal-information handling should be sent to [email protected]. If a complaint cannot be resolved directly, you may escalate to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner. This policy will be updated as our practices and applicable law change; the most recent version is always the version at this URL.
